Teaching Portfolio
Documentation of active courses, syllabi, practical lab artifacts, and lecture materials at Informatics Department UNP.
Teaching Philosophy & Pedagogy
Computing education extends far beyond teaching language syntax. It centers on cultivating decompositional problem-solving mindsets, empathy for diverse human abilities, and critical consciousness regarding the societal and environmental consequences of digital artifacts.
1. Human-Centered Inquiry
Every component, interaction flow, and line of code stems from empathy for real human diverse needs and cognitive accessibility.
2. Calibrated Scaffolding
Conversational AI models and automation serve as Socratic sounding boards, preventing passive consumption and stimulating active struggle.
3. Project-Based Impact
Course deliverables are designed as usable, peer-reviewed artifacts suitable for capstone showcases and empirical evaluation.
Taught Undergraduate & Graduate Courses
Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Negeri PadangWeb Development
The Web Development course equips students with the conceptual understanding and practical skills required to design, build, test, and deploy full-stack web applications within the context of digital business, generating tangible business value and positive societal impact. The curriculum utilizes HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Vue.js, Node.js, Express, and PostgreSQL, delivered through a progressive project called SisaBaik executed entirely without AI assistance. This is followed by a capstone project aligned with stakeholder needs, unique value propositions, simple business or sustainability models, and impact indicators, where the utilization of AI tools must be transparent, thoroughly documented, and fully accountable.
Human-Computer Interaction
The Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) course is the study of how humans interact with computing technology. The primary focus of this course lies in the design, evaluation, and implementation of interactive computing systems that are useful, usable, and engaging for users. Students will be equipped with a comprehensive understanding of human cognitive principles, user-centered design (UCD) methodologies, and frameworks for integrating human values into the design process through Value Sensitive Design. Upon completion of the course, students are expected to be capable of designing and evaluating effective interactive prototypes, as well as documenting and providing evidence-based design justifications in preparation for professional case studies.
Software Analysis and Design
This course addresses problem discovery and analysis, requirements engineering, process/domain/interaction modeling, architecture drivers and views, detailed object-oriented (OO) design and interface contracts, quality/testability evaluation, code/design smells, static/dynamic analysis interpretation, change management, and version-controlled technical documentation. Learning is structured around a moderately-sized real-world case study and a lecturer-provided reference system; the deliverables culminate in an analysis-design dossier and review evidence, rather than application implementation. API design, threat modeling/secure design, architecture as code, fitness checks, and living documentation are provided as enrichment materials.
UI/UX Design
This course examines the concepts, principles, and practices of user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) design. Students will explore the UX design process, ranging from user research, wireframing, and prototyping to usability testing. Furthermore, the course emphasizes the application of sound design principles and how UI/UX design can support business strategies.
